A trough moving eastwards across the Dominican Republic is expected to bring rains today, Thursday 31 July and tomorrow, Friday 1 August 2014, reports the Meteorological Office. The rainfall will be especially welcome given the drought that has affected the country for several months.
Yesterday, Wednesday 30 July 2014, the director of the National Hydrological Resources Institute (INDRI) Olgo Fernandez said that the nation’s reservoir levels were at critical levels.
