The Dominican Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE) says it has made payments for US$4.31 billion to power suppliers from August 2012 to July 2014, which is US$125.6 million more than what the power companies have billed since the start of the Medina administration.
The fact that the amount paid is greater than the bills reflects the government’s efforts to cover the debt agreement, the CDEEE told Acento.com.do in a written statement detailing the payments made to each supplier.
