President Danilo Medina defended the appointment and promotion of his chief of the Army Major General Jose Matos de la Cruz, on grounds that he was an exemplary military.
Deputy Minou Tavarez Mirabal (PLD-National District) had protested yesterday, Tuesday 19 August 2014 via a Twitter message (@minoutavarezm) that President Danilo Medina’s newly appointed Army chief is the son of the general who is accused of murdering her father, Manolo Tavarez Justo.
