Prosecutor Jose Miguel Cuevas has resigned after the Prosecutor General Office determined he was guilty of trying to set up a suspected criminal. Cuevas appeared in a video planting a firearm under a bed during a search of the home of a suspected drug trafficker in Ocoa, Erin Manuel Andujar (Pena). No drugs were found during the raid.
He will be judged by the ordinary courts in San Jose de Ocoa after losing his privileged status.
