President Danilo Medina was in the northwestern province of Valverde (Mao) for the inauguration of 59 new classrooms yesterday, Tuesday 9 September 2014. The Presidency says that 2,065 children will benefit from the new classrooms in four schools that are now teaching from 8 to 4pm, with lunch included, as part of the new extended school day model.
The schools are the Juan Pablo Duarte primary school in Villa Olimpica in Mao, Profesora Teodora Acosta Sosa School in Los Cayucos in Esperanza and Maria Luis Abreu and Hermanas Mirabal schools.
