President Danilo Medina held an hour-and-a-half-long meeting yesterday, Monday 15 September 2014 with the president of the Constitutional Tribunal (TC), Milton Ray Guevara and other court members at the courthouse. Upon leaving he told the press it was simply a courtesy visit.
President Medina’s visit coincides with the public debate as to whether he will seek re-election. This would require a change to the 2010 Constitution, which bans consecutive re-election.
According to the Gallup-Hoy poll, 65.7% of Dominican voters are in favor of Medina seeking re-election.
