President Danilo Medina hosted a visit at the National Palace yesterday, Monday 15 September 2014 by 18 Colombian senior police officers and students from the Miguel Antonio Lleras Pizarro Post Graduate Police School in Bogota.
Colonel Juan Francisco Pelaez from the Colombian National Police said that the students came to exchange experiences and learn about the progress being made in fighting crime in the Dominican Republic.
Meanwhile the chief of the Dominican National Police, Major General Manuel Castro Castillo said the visit was a way of strengthening ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the fight against crime.
The officers presented President Danilo Medina with a replica of the Colombian Police badge and Castillo was given a book about the history of the Colombian Police.
