The board of directors of Central Romana Corporation has appointed Rafael Torres as president of Casa de Campo resort. Torres is a graduate of the University of Madrid hotel school with over 20 years experience in the hotel industry. He comes to Casa de Campo after working as director general for Melia hotels in Spain, Italy, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Recently he was in charge of the chain’s Paradisus hotels in Punta Cana.
At Casa de Campo he will oversee operations and the coordination and integration of all business units and projects in the area of Casa de Campo resort. The appointment seeks to capitalize on Torres’ extensive knowledge in the US, Canada, Europe and Latin America markets. He will oversee the creation of the new Hotel and Business Division.
