Trade with Cuba at US$126 million

The new ambassador for Cuba Carlos Raul de la Nuez says that trade between the Dominican Republic and Cuba is now worth US$126 million a year. The new ambassador says the level of trade is satisfactory, but could be better. He expressed hopes that a bilateral agreement can soon be negotiated to increase trade, as reported in Diario Libre.

The DR mainly sells food, fertilizers and livestock to Cuba. It imports medicines and input for manufacturing steel rods.
