Venezuelan Foreign Minister Rafael Ramirez has allayed concerns that the economic problems in his country would bring an end to the Venezuelan-backed PetroCaribe oil deal of which the Dominican Republic is a leading beneficiary. He made the comments speaking during the 14th Meeting of the Council of Energy Ministers of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries held in Caracas yesterday, Thursday 20 November 2014. PetroCaribe allows regional countries to fund petrol purchases with long-term financing.
