Drug lord asked to hand himself over to authorities

The head of the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), Julio Cesar Souffront Velazquez, has called on Gregorio Vilorio Perez (Dario Gasolina), who is accused of heading a network of drug dealers that was taken down last month, to turn himself in to authorities.

He said that they were on his trail and that he should turn himself in to prevent a bloodbath as they knew he was armed and with other people.

He said that they were sure that Vilorio Perez was the head of one of the most prolific drug gangs in the eastern part of the country and that they had confiscated large amounts of drugs from him on several occasions.

In addition to the 499 packages of what was thought to be cocaine or heroin, and an AK47 rifle that they confiscated last month, Souffront Velaquez said that via the Attorney General’s office they were investigating whether Dario Gasolina was also involved in money laundering.

He added that his assets would be seized and that he was the owner of the Alto Rango discotheque as well as other properties that they were checking before confiscating them.
