Back to school

The president of the Dominican Teachers’ Association (ADP), Eduardo Hidalgo, has called on parents, teachers and friends of the schools to send their children to school today, Wednesday 7 January 2015 after the Christmas and New Year holiday.

Hidalgo went on to say that teachers would be receiving a 12% pay rise this year that he hoped would increase to 25% in 2016.

In addition he said that the ADP was working to increase teachers’ pensions from RD$5,000 to RD$15,000 per month.
