President Danilo Medina has sent his congratulations to businesswoman Ligia Bonetti on her appointment as president of the SID Group, one of the largest business groups in the country.
He said that the choice was a very wise decision by the Administrative Board and the shareholders of such a prestigious company.
SID groups MercaSID, Induveca, Agua Crystal, Induspalma, SID Franquicias and SID Entertainment.
He said that he offered his sincere congratulations on behalf of himself and the government for the vote of confidence in her skills and leadership to take on such a major responsibility. He went on to say he would be watching her progress carefully and that the company had deep roots in the country’s economic market.
She replaces her father Jose Miguel Bonetti and his brother Roberto Bonetti, previous chief executives of the corporation. At the time of the appointment, she held the post of business vice president at SID. She is also a former president of the Dominican Republic Industries Association (AIRD).
