Bloodbath in San Cristobal

Four people were killed on Sunday night, 18 January 2015 in a series of incidents in the southwestern city of San Cristobal, reportedly linked to motorcycle racing and drug dealing.

Yenly Aneurys Heredia Felix, alias Morado, was named as the man responsible for the murders. According to Diario Libre, he went through the neighborhoods of Moscu, Cinco de Abril, Villa Progreso and Los Molinas in order to find and kill 34-year old Jose Altagracia Pineda, Luis Alberto Villar, also 34, Maniqui Manuel Brea, 21 and police Corporal Ricky Gabriel Aguero, 26.

Several other people were injured during his rampage, including police sergeant Cristian del Orbe Garcia and Anastacio Recio, known as Mata Mulo.

Initial investigations confirm that the killer stole a Honda vehicle and a gun and went to several parts of the city to seek revenge for the death of one of his friends who died when they were both returning from a race in Azua, when they were stopped in Lucas Diaz and shot at. Heredia Felix was wounded and his friend died. Heredia Felix was arrested at the time but then released.

Heredia Felix is reported to have killed himself with a single gunshot while being pursued by the Police, and later died in Juan Pablo Pina Hospital. When the bullet exited, it then hit 53-year old Fernando Fidel Medina, who is in hospital in a serious condition.
