The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) has announced major changes to the staff of the country’s main drug fighting body, coming at a time when an investigation by the Attorney General has revealed widespread and large-scale corruption in the National Police drug fighting division (Dican). The changes include a reshuffle of the DNCD’s investigative department directors.
The DNCD also announced the replacement of its entire staff in Hato Mayor, where a woman who described herself as a former drug point dealer said she had quit because she couldn’t handle all the bribes she had to distribute to law enforcement officers.
