According to Dominican Rehabilitation Association (ADR) executive director Arturo Perez Gavino, of the 300,000 patients a year who attend their 29 affiliated centers, some 62% were injured in motorcycle accidents.
He was speaking at a press conference yesterday, Monday 19 January 2015, after receiving a RD$1.3 million donation from Canadian clothing manufacturer Gildan for the rehabilitation unit in Guerra, in Santo Domingo province. Perez Gavino said that the money would be used to improve facilities for the patients.
