The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) has arrested a Dominican at Las Americas International Airport. He is reported to have arrived in the country from Colombia with 10 packs of a white powder, thought to be cocaine or heroin, inside his luggage of two backpacks and three small bags. A Dominican man and woman who were at the terminal to meet him were also arrested.
The drugs were sent to the National Forensic Science Laboratory and the three were taken into custody.
A DNCD spokesperson said that the arrests were made thanks to a tip-off received that someone on the plane arriving from Colombia would be carrying drugs.
