In a letter sent yesterday, Tuesday 27 January 2015, President Danilo Medina congratulated the management, players and fans of the Gigantes del Cibao baseball team on winning the Dominican Winter League Baseball Championship in the 2014-2015 season.
Medina’s letter, addressed to the president of the team from San Francisco de Macoris, Samir Rizek, said that their first championship win had delighted their followers. He singled out Maikel Franco and pitcher Mario Santiago for their special contributions.
Medina also congratulated manager Audo Vincente, general manager Rene Francisco, team captain Alexi Casilla and director Juan Mercado for the dedication and tenacity they demonstrated in winning the title.
