Yesterday, Tuesday 27 January 2015, the San Pedro de Macoris Baseball Association, the US Embassy, the Robinson Cano Foundation and Major League Baseball announced they would be hosting a Jackie Robinson baseball camp. Workshops will be held for more than 300 children who play in the Little Leagues in the province. The camp will take place this coming Saturday, 31 January 2015 starting at 2:30pm.
The event is named in honor of Jackie Robinson, the first baseball player to break the racial discrimination barrier in the US.
