National champions Gigantes del Cibao are getting ready for the last event, the Caribbean Series being held in San Juan, Puerto Rico and starting on Monday, 2 February 2015. Players Elian Herrera, Francisco Pena, Carlos Pimentel, Hector Gomez and Wirfin Obispo will head the Gigantes, who have also selected players from the Estrellas Orientales and the Aguilas Cibaenas as reinforcements for the winning team. “We managed to contact a nucleus of players who are going to join us in the Caribbean Series. This is a group of men who were available. They are the ones who have been away from the game for the shortest period of time,” manager Audo Vicente told reporters from El Caribe newspaper. The Caribbean Series brings together teams from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Cuba, as well as the Dominican Republic. The Dominican team will play Cuba in its first game on Tuesday 3 February at 1:05 pm. The games will be televised in the Dominican Republic.
