Despite the 2010 Constitution banning President Danilo Medina from seeking re-election, 63.9% of eligible voters told Gallup pollsters that Danilo Medina should be the candidate for the PLD in the May 2016 presidential election. Percentages for other PLD candidates are: Leonel Fernandez (12.8%), Margarita Cedeno (4.5%), Francisco Javier Garcia (3.4%), Reynaldo Pared Perez (2.2%), Abel Martinez (1.0%), Temistocles Montas (0.9%), Francisco Dominguez Brito (0.3%), Radhames Segura (0.2%), Roberto Salcedo (0.1%), Cristina Lizardo (0.1%). The Gallup poll was carried out 24-27 January 2015 nationwide with 1,200 Dominicans eligible to vote polled.
