Fadul says Quirino interview is a set-up

Minister of Interior and Police Jose Ramon Fadul has cast doubt on the authenticity of the person who claimed to be Quirino Ernesto Castillo on El Gobierno de la manana radio show yesterday, Thursday 12 February 2015. As reported in Listin Diario, Fadul said the statements made against former Leonel Fernandez would be investigated. Fadul described the interview as “a set up that Fernandez does not deserve.”

He said that the country should request Quirino Ernesto Castillo’s extradition from the United States, where he was sentenced for drug trafficking in the seized shipment of 1,387 kilos of cocaine, so that he can account for the shipment that was seized, leading to his arrest.

“That is a cheap and low set up,” he said. “President Fernandez does not deserve this to be done to him. Whoever wants to fight against him should do so in the realm of ideas. Everyone knows of the honesty and integrity of President Fernandez and that is a falsehood, low and perversion of the worst that can happen,” said Fadul when interviewed at the Presidential Palace.
