Classical music extravaganza in Santo Domingo

Now is the time to book tickets to the Fundacion Sinfonia-sponsored Festival de Musica Santo Domingo. The Festival will take place 4-14 March at the National Theater. Opening concert, on 4 March 2015:

The opening concert features violinist Vadim Repin, and Ramon Tebar is conducting the National Symphony Orchestra. P. I. Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy-Overture” is on the program.

Second concert on 7 March 2015:

The second concert is set for Saturday 7 March. Ramon Tebar will be the conductor, with Jean Yves Thibaudet at the piano.

Richard Wagner’s Tannhauser Opera Overture is on the program.

Third concert on 11 March 2015:

The third concert is on Wednesday, 11 March. The Festival orchestra will be conducted by Ramon Tebar.

Tenor Lawrence Brownlee and mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught are the special guest performers. The program is: “Belcanto Fireworks” – Arias by Mozart, Bellini, Donizetti and Rossini.

The closing concert of the festival is on Saturday, 14 March. Jose Antonio Molina will be conducting. Javier Perianes is the special guest on the piano.
