Drugs found in Caucedo port

The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) has announced the confiscation of 100 packages of a substance believed to be either heroin or cocaine at the Caucedo Port from a ship that arrived from Peru with a cargo of wheat.

DNCD spokesman Dario Medrano said that the haul was made on the ship Bella Schuulte. When the containers were checked on the dock, the seal appeared to have been tampered with, so the container was opened for checking and the drugs were found.

The DNCD also announced that on Monday 16 February 2015, their agents arrested a Belgian couple trying to board an airplane for Brussels at the Punta Cana International Airport and each had ten packets of drugs inside their clothing.
