The transport associations affiliated to the National Confederation of Dominican Workers (CNDT) have asked President Danilo Medina to intervene in a dispute between the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) and the Dominican Association of Air Traffic Controllers (ADCA).
The problems began when IDAC director Alejandro Herrera fired most of the directors of ADCA last February, including its president, Wellington Almonte.
CNTD spokesman Santiago Zamora said that Herrera had violated the freedom to join a Trade Union, and the rights of association as set out in the Constitution.
Zamora went on to say that it was not fair to fire these people who simply wanted the organization to work well.
