Minister of Public Works Gonzalo Castillo inaugurated several expanded and repaved roads in the province of Peravia (Bani) in the southwest yesterday, Wednesday 18 February 2015. The main stretch was the Bani-Azua 49km four-lane highway, as well as the Pizarrete-Las Barias (19km) road, Villa Sombrero-Matanzas (12km), and Fabio Herrera Cabral avenue in the center of Bani (10km).
Minister Gonzalo Castillo highlighted the important contributions the new roads will make to the regional economy and safety.
The roads were built by Rizek y Pradera Verde and are part of the Multiphase Program for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Roads funded by loans from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
