Supreme Court Judge Alejandro Moscoso Segarra will hear a request today, Tuesday 24 February 2015 from a company that is seeking the return of an airplane that was confiscated after public prosecutors said it was owned by senator Felix Bautista, who is under investigation for corruption in office and asset laundering.
The company, Sparkles Management Services, belongs to a group of Austrian investors involved in tourism who claim ownership of the Gulfstream jet.
The Public Prosecution Service, via the National Council for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (PEPCA) confiscated the jet saying that it belonged to Felix Bautista, but Sparkles maintains that they bought it from Secure Aircorp, which was owned by Bautista from October to December 2013, for the sum of US$1,100,000. They say they bought it to help with the expansion of their operations in Punta Cana and Cancun, Mexico.
