Dominican Ambassador in the United States Jose Tomas Perez met with his counterpart, Haitian Ambassador Paul Altidor in Washington, D.C. yesterday, Tuesday 10 March 2015 to discuss the bilateral agenda of both missions.
According to a press release issued by Perez, they discussed economic, political, commercial and cultural between both countries.
Ambassador Perez talked about the major effort the Dominican government has made with the implementation of the National Foreigner Regularization Plan and as reported, Ambassador Altidor said that the Haitian authorities are aware of the importance of their citizens having the documentation they need to be able to register under the plan. One of the main obstacles to the successful application of the plan has been the lack of documentation granted by the Haitian government to its citizens.
They both agreed to work together to strengthen the relationship of friendship and cooperation.
