More services at Dominican missions abroad

Minister of Foreign Relations Andres Navarro and Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario signed an agreement yesterday, Thursday 12 March 2015, to establish mechanisms for new services at consulates and embassies abroad. Dominicans living overseas will be able to request their ID (cedula) as well as applying for civil registry documents and passports abroad. The services will begin with a pilot at the consulates in New Orleans and Los Angeles in the US, with a view to rolling out to 58 missions abroad.

Rosario said that the most important thing about the agreement is that it will help expatriate Dominicans to pass on their Dominican nationality to all their children born abroad.
