PRM seeks to reunite with PRD

Seeing strength in unity, 62 PRD and PRM deputies have signed a document to encourage leading politicians Miguel Vargas Maldonado, Hipolito Mejia and Luis Abinader to make an electoral pact that would give them a chance of keeping their seats in National Congress in the 2016 elections. The legislators were elected in 2010 for a six-year term. The next term, however, will only be for four years.

There are now 77 deputies from the parties, 43 from the PRD and 34 from the PRM.

Only 15 of the deputies did not sign the document that was delivered to the leaders calling for them to unite their respective parties to guarantee an effective opposition to the current government with the possibility of taking power away from the PLD.

The document signatories were Victor Gomez Casasnova, Graciela Fermin, Carlos Gabriel Garcia, Jose Altagracia (Radhames) Gonzalez, Ramon Santana, Pedro Carreras Santana, Leivi Guerrero, Juan Maldonado, Guillermo Ramos Garcia and Pedro Alejandro Aguirre.

For the PRM the signatories included Ramon Bueno, Jorge Frias, Esther Minyetti, Eugenio Cedeno, Wellington Arnaud, Elpidio Infante, Evangelina Sosa, Jose Paliza and David Collado.

The members who did not sign included Nelson Arroyo and Hugo Nunez, Geovanny Tejada, Alberto Atallah, Hugo Tolentino Dipp, Josefa Castillo, Nestor Cruz Pichardo, Anibal Rosario and Jose Santana Suriel.
