Judges at the Land Tribunal will hear 78 appeals today, Wednesday 25 March 2015, against the court’s decision to cancel all property titles issued for thousands of square meters in the protected area of Bahia de las Aguilas in the south west of the country.
The court will have Manuel Alexis Read Ortiz as head judge and Pilar Jimenez Ortiz and Catalina Ferrera Cuevas will also be hearing the appeals.
The appellants are stating that their titles to the land are valid in a case that has been in the courts for 15 years. Judge Alba Beard Marcos recently revoked all the title deeds issued since 1990 as they had not been issued legally.
