Tourists flooding in for Easter Week

The number of tourists in the country has increased over the last few days because of Easter Week. The number of flights has also increased.

According to the figures, 60% of visitors arriving at the Las Americas International airport hail from France, Italy, Germany, Spain as well as Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico where they are met by tour companies and taken to hotels around the country.

Immigration and Customs have set up special desks to ensure that arriving passengers do not have to wait too long.

According to sources, hotels in the east of the country, especially Boca Chica and Juan Dolio are at 90% occupancy.
