The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) has extradited two Dominicans to the United States and one to Spain, where they are wanted for drug related and other crimes. They have also arrested five Dominicans and a Puerto Rican wanted by the US authorities.
The men who were extradited are 53-year old William Frias Montilla, Kennedy de Jesus (Nino) and Victor Manuel Velasquez Rochttis. Those arrested were Francisco Javier Martinez de Jesus, 47, Moises Alfonso de la Cruz Decena, 24, a couple, Emil Alexander Mejia Acosta and Ana Pimentel, both 39, and Puerto Rican Gunnar Dell Jenkins, 36.
De Jesus and Velasquez Rochttis were handed over to Marshalls at Las Americas airport from where they were flown to New York, accused of drug dealing, fraud, extortion and posing as US government employees.
Martinez de Jesus was being sought for extradition by a New York State court to respond to eight charges including swindling and threatening behavior. He was arrested at the Cibao International Airport where he was in possession of an SUV, a shotgun, a rifle and a bottle of a white powder.
Mejia Acosta and Ana Pimentel, who were arrested in Castanuela, Montecristi, had been accused in New York of stealing from the US government and other charges.
They are now at the DNCD headquarters awaiting extradition to the United States.
