The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) reports that lab tests have confirmed that 22 packages of narcotics found on a vehicle (Mitsubishi Galant) on the Puerto Rico ferry earlier this week contained heroin and cocaine. The drugs were seized from an unnamed Puerto Rican who was attempting to smuggle them hidden inside his vehicle’s fuel tank on the ferry from Santo Domingo to Puerto Rico. DNCD Joint Information and Coordination Center (CICC) officers discovered the packages during a routine search. As reported, 14 contained cocaine weighing 7.35 kilograms, and the remaining eight contained pure heroin, with a weight of 3.97 kilograms.
