Relatives of people who die overseas are complaining that Aerodom, the Las Americas International Airport management company, is charging US$150 via the Blandino funeral home for the simple task of processing the paperwork once the remains arrive at the Santo Domingo airport.
Spokespersons for affected families say that Blandino, which recently took over the reception of remains at the airport, is taking advantage of their situation.
They said that even families that do not want to use Blandino’s services, as they have their own hearse, still have to pay for the service.
