A businessman who owns two large companies in the municipality of Pimentel paid for the double murder of the deputy minister for Energy and Mines, Victoriano Santos, and his son Victor Manuel Santos in Cotui, according to one of the men accused of the crime.
An unnamed investigator who spoke to El Nacional newspaper said that he went to see the businessman to interview him and ask him to respond to the accusations, but it appears that he has left the country and his whereabouts are unknown. The source added that it is impossible to say if those accused of the crime are telling the truth.
The accused are reported to have said that the businessman made contact with someone only known as “Jose el Oju” and asked him to find people to kidnap Santos and take him to a farm in Pimentel where he would be taught a lesson.
It appears that this individual is under arrest in the prison in Cotui under strict security.
The Santos family lawyer, Dr. Candido Simo, says that they just want no stone unturned until the truth comes out. He highlighted that the life of the victim’s mother was also in danger as she is still in Plaza de la Salud hospital with serious health problems.
The five men in jail for the murders are Freddy Rubio Feliz (El Catin), Sergio Andres Soto, Isauris Sanchez de los Santos (El Abusador), Natanael Julis Ozoria (El Mayor) and Jensy Rodriguez Torres (Hensen).
