The senator for Peravia province, Wilton Guerrero, who has always been strongly opposed to President Danilo Medina’s re-election, is now saying that it is a foregone conclusion, while describing it as a “necessary evil.”
He was speaking after his meeting with the President yesterday, Tuesday 14 April 2015, just after Medina authorized a US$27 million payment to complete the aqueduct in Guerrero’s home province.
The senator said he had changed his mind following a process of “deep reflection,” after hearing his supporters repeatedly telling him that Medina deserved another term in office.
In a reference to the Political Committee meeting on 19 April, Guerrero said that the Committee members need no other motivation than to listen to the hearts of the people.
