On Wednesday, 15 April 2015 the Senate approved the legislative proposal to change the National Housing Promotion and Production Bank (BNV) to the National Export Bank (Bandex) with some modifications. Submitted by the Executive Branch, the bill says the new focus will be on supporting productive activities like farming, industry and mining, as well as export development.
The legislative proposal received a favorable report from the Hacienda Commission, chaired by Senator Dionis Sanchez.
Bandex will receive loans from international institutions with soft conditions for channeling to producers through other entities, as reported in El Nuevo Diario.
