Government to create Institute for Dominicans Abroad

Minister of Foreign Relations Andres Navarro traveled to New York late last week where he held meetings with Dominican residents for the creation of the Institute for Dominicans Abroad. The meetings took place at the Dominican consulate and at the Dominican Commission for Culture on Friday 17 April 2015. During the meeting Navarro highlighted that the aims of the Dominican foreign policy re-structuring included transforming the country’s image, promoting trade and investment, and protecting and defending Dominican interests abroad. He said the creation of an Institute for Dominicans Abroad had been one of President Danilo Medina’s campaign promises.
