In a second reading yesterday, Wednesday 29 April 2015, the Senate approved a legislative proposal to transform the National Housing Development and Production Bank (BNV) into a new entity called the National Export Bank (Bandex), as reported in El Nuevo Diario. The legislation proposes transforming the current BNV into an entity specialized in financing exporting companies. The Senate also passed the Customs Bill. This bill regulates the exercise of customs authorities and the judicial relationship that is established between Customs and individuals or corporations for the entry, exit or transit of merchandise through the customs areas.
