Members of wealthy families from Latin America and the Dominican Republic are meeting in Casa de Campo, La Romana for the 13th Business Meeting on “Parents and Children,” which focuses on transmitting the importance of seeking a positive social impact through business to new generations of leaders and businesspeople. President Danilo Medina is scheduled to make the opening address.
The event was conceived by Gustavo Cisneros, Jose “Pepe” Fanjul, Joseph Safra, Alvaro Saieh, Julio Mario Santo Domingo and Carlos Slim. Businessmen Carlos Slim is said to be attending.
King of Spain Juan Carlos de Borbon, former Prime Minister of Spain Felipe Gonzalez and the former Brazilian president Fernando Henrique Cardoso will be here through 15 May for talks that will also focus on the fight against poverty and job creation.
The guests are being hosted by the Cisneros, Corripio, Fanjul and Vicini families according to a press release on the event.
