Last week, National District prosecutor’s office arrested a Serbian man, Sasha Kolic, who is accused of fraud against Dream Casino and is also being investigated for alleged links to the president and vice president of the bankrupt Peravia bank, Jose Luis Santoro and Gabriel Jimenez Aray, both subjects of an international arrest warrant.
Kolic claims to have had a social as well as a commercial relationship with the bankers.
In addition, Kolic is believed to have hidden a 2011 Mercedes Benz belonging to Jimenez Aray and of fraudulently obtaining documents to take goods belonging to Dream Casino.
Kolic has been deported from the Dominican Republic twice for his links to a murder network, but has reentered using false names.
Immigration authorities say he is responsible for several criminal acts as well as using documents in different names to elude the authorities.
He is also being investigated in connection with the killing of El Seibo prosecutor Rafael Castro Mercedes, who was murdered a few days after having an argument with Kolic’s wife.
