Judge Eddy Olivares of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) has accused JCE president Roberto Rosario of boycotting the groundwork needed for the process of recognizing political parties. He said they are victims of the centralism at the JCE. He rejected recent claims that the delays in recognizing political parties were due to lack of funds or short staffing.
Eight political organizations have submitted the paperwork that needs to be validated by the JCE. They include Alianza Pais, which deposited the paperwork 25 months ago, Movimiento Primero la Gente (MPG), which delivered the documents 16 months ago, Movimiento Rebelde (MR), almost 11 months ago and Partido Verde de la Unidad Democratica (PVUD), nine months ago.
