President Danilo Medina was in Punta Cana over the weekend of 6-7 June 2015 for the symbolic launch of the construction of two resorts, the 464-room Karisma Hotels & Resorts two-hotel complex at Uvero Alto. The complex will have 11 restaurants, a water park, casino and discotheques. One of the installations is the first Nickelodeon hotel to be built outside the United States with 204 rooms. The other is the Now Onyx of the Martinon group of Spain. This hotel will also be located in Uvero Alto.
