As of Monday, 15 June 2015, employees earning the minimum wage in the Dominican Republic have been awarded a 14% raise as ordered by the National Salary Commission, and Resolution No. 1/2015 issued by the Ministry of Labor. Larger companies that paid RD$11,292 will now pay a minimum of RD$12,872. Medium-sized companies that paid RD$7,763 will now pay RD$8,849 and small companies that paid RD$6,880 will pay RD$7,843 a month. Farm workers will now be paid RD$267 per day, up from RD$229.
