The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) has issued an alert for flooding in the eastern provinces of La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, Hato Mayor and in Greater Santo Domingo, due to heavy rains that are expected to continue today. A front and a tropical wave are bringing the rainstorms that will slowly move across the country.
Last night, June 22, the tropical wave was situated to the south of Puerto Rico and is expected to move west, bringing an increase in cloudiness, rain and storms to the provinces of La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macoris, Monte Plata, Sanchez Ramirez, Duarte, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Hermanas Mirabal, Santiago Rodriguez, Dajabon and Valverde.
