Punta Cana is second on the list of AAA top international summer vacation destinations published by AAA on 18 June 2015. AAA is a not-for-profit federation of 44 motor clubs that serves more than 54 million members in the United States and Canada.
In its release, the organization places Cancun, Mexico first, followed by Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The organization also points out that this summer is an ideal time to travel to Europe as the US dollar is nearly on a par with the euro, stretching vacation budgets further.
