Confusion as to how many jobs there are

According to statistics from the Social Security Treasury (TSS), in the last two and a half years, 280,447 jobs have been created in the country. The total number of employees in the Dominican Republic increased from 1,415,992 in December 2012 to 1,696,439 in June 2015.

In contrast, according to the Central Bank, the total number of employees has risen from 3,909,478 in 2012 to 4,121,648 in 2014, which represents an increase of 212,170 jobs over the period. However, at the beginning of this year the government had announced that the Dominican economy had created 344,900 new jobs.
