Spokesperson for the Police, Jacobo Mateo Moquete, denied that the Police have cleared TV host Ibelka Ulerio of involvement in the credit card cloning network as part of the on-going the investigation. The gang, of which the main suspect is her husband Luis Gabriel Viloria, is suspect of having skimmed RD$100 million through various fraudulent operations. Mateo said that the investigation is ongoing.
On Tuesday 21 July 2015, Judge Alejandro Bargo sentenced Luis Gabriel Viloria Soriano to three months in preventive custody in La Victoria jail for allegedly belonging to a network of card cloners.
Viloria is suspected of being part of an international group that clones credit cards. Along with Viloria, authorities arrested 40-year old Venezuelan Jonathan Alberto Duarte Vargas, who had served a six year jail sentence in Mexico and 28-year old Juan Carlos Garcia Cruz, who was believed to be the software developer.
During the investigation, of 26 credit cards were found in possession of Viloria Soriano, seven were in the name of his wife, Ibelka Ulerio.
This is the second time Viloria is arrested for the same crime. His first arrest was in 2012.
