Luguelin Santos wins gold in Toronto 2015

The Dominican sprinter who left all open-mouthed when he won silver in the London 2012, 400 m dash, has done it again. Racing in Toronto, Santos took home the gold for the 400 m, at a time of 44.56. This was his best time this year and it is only the second time he’s finished under 45 seconds in his career. Silver went to Machel Cedenio of Trinidad & Tobago (44.70 sec) and bronze to Kyle Clement of the US (44.84 sec).

In the same event in the Guadalajara 2011 Pan Am Games, Santos had won silver.

He joins Candida Vasquez in weightlifting, and Ana Villanueva in karate to stand the honor to hear the Dominican anthem in Toronto.

The DR is in 12th place in the games with 3 gold, 5 silver and nine bronze.
